Product information "Aster divaricatus 'Tradescant'"
This variety of wood aster has larger, white flowers and it is one of the few asters that also grows in shade. It grows weakly because it only develops short rhizomes. A number of star-shaped, white flowers on wiry stems appear above the heart-shaped, bright green leaves from July/August to September. This aster grows to about 70 cm high. There are no special requirements concerning both the lighting conditions and the soil. This plant grows in dry to moderately moist soil in sun or partial shade. It is very suitable for wild perennial plantings or as a semi-tall filler in beds. If it is planted in front of shrubs, its white flowers are particularly attractive. It can also be combined well with goat's beard, monkshood and ground covers such barrenwort, creeping navelwort and barren strawberries. Pruning after flowering prevents re-seeding and promotes growth for the following year.Flower colour: White
