Product information "Eryngium variifolium"

Variable-leaved sea holly is a particularly showy perennial. Its silvery blue appearance with the exceptional inflorescences makes it a real eye-catcher in every garden. It has a compact, clump-like habit. In July and August, the multi-branched, silvery blue flower stalks that have conical to spherical, relatively large single flowers at the ends appear above the variegated, very narrow, multi-part, thorny leaves. This perennial prefers locations in full sun with well-drained, nutrient-poor and warm soils. Constantly moist locations however, are not tolerated. Variable-leaved sea holly can be used in perennial beds, mixed borders, natural and steppe-like plantings. It is also suitable for cutting and dried flower arrangements.
