This brown-red Acaena is a mat-forming ornamental perennial from New Zealand and South America. The variety name nicely describes its appearance: it has finely feathered, copper-red foliage and reddish brown burrs that create a copper-coloured carpet under other plants. Also known as New Zealand burr or scarlet piripiri, Acaena microphylla 'Kupferteppich' is a valuable ground cover for flower beds, rock gardens, grave plantings and dry stone walls.Flower colour: White
