Product information "Acinos alpinus"

Rock thyme is a small, creeping ground cover that is an asset to any rock garden. It has small, purplish red, lip-shaped flowers that bloom from June until August; the plant does not grow much higher than 15 cm. Its small, oval-lanceolate, green leaves smell fresh like mint. Acinos alpinus prefers sunny locations and dry to fresh soil. This alpine wild plant is particularly well suited for rock gardens and for planting in the foreground of larger perennial beds. It can also be very attractive planted in containers, along with other ground covers such as baby’s breath and dianthus. It also provides food for bees.
