Product information "Geum chiloense 'Lady Stratheden' (Goldball)"
This avens was awarded the 'Award of Garden Merit' because of the extraordinary luminosity of its yellow, semi-double flowers and it has enriched the gardens of plant lovers for over 90 years. This avens variety is also known under the name 'Goldball', and those who see this plant bloom can only agree with the name. The flowers have an incredible long-range effect.
The faded flowers should be removed in order to encourage a second bloom. In order to rejuvenate the foliage that grows in a basal rosette, you can also cut it back completely. Geum chiloense 'Lady Strathaden' will then again form new shoots.
The perennial should be divided every 3-4 years. A beautiful play of colours arises when 'Lady Stratheden' is planted with its sister 'Mrs. Bradshaw'.
Good growing conditions for avens are mild to moderate soil and a sunny location, which should not be too dry.
