Vinca minor 'Ralph Shugert' quickly forms dense cushions of leaves and shoots. The variety is particularly willing to bloom and is one of the early flowering Vincas. The first flowers often appear in February; the main flowering is then in March and up until autumn there is a blue splash of colour. The flowers are small, star-shaped, with five petals and they have a bluish violet colour.
 
'Ralph Shugert' is very suitable for greening slopes and hills, but also for large tombs. Vinca minor is a domestic semi-shrub that is well adapted to our climate and thus also tolerates harsh winters well. Vinca minor 'Ralph Shugert' can also tolerate dryness and shade once it is established. Apart from a basic fertilisation in spring and watering on hot days, the plants need little care. If they extend too far with their long shoots, they can be cut back into form in the spring. This Vinca is grateful if it can grow in peace.
