Product information "Arabis caucasica 'Schneehaube'"

This white blooming rock cress is a particularly rich flowering cushion perennial. It has a clump-forming, compact habit and is no higher than 15 cm. Moreover, it is virtually evergreen. It forms spatula-shaped, grey-green leaves with slightly serrated edges. The flowers that appear from April to May are arranged in clusters, each with four petals and a small yellow eye. Arabis caucasica 'Schneehaube' prefers sunny to semi-shady locations with well-drained, fresh, rather dry soil that does not have too many nutrients. The relatively rapid growth and the consequent, rapid spreading speak for rock cress. This cushion forming ground cover finds use between large stones and path slabs, in rock gardens or as a bed enclosure. In addition, it is also very good for containers as well as grave plantings.
