Product information "Arum italicum"
Italian arum is an ideal plant for an overgrown location. It develops very well and beautifully in sunny and partially shady areas. This plant fascinates with its large, lancet-shaped leaves that are crisscrossed by bright veins and grow between 30 and almost 40 cm high. From April to July, calla-like inflorescences appear, which are filled with red berries in autumn. Italian arum likes semi-shaded locations with humus, slightly loamy soil, such as under thin shrubs and in shaded beds. Since this foliage plant dies back to its rhizome in the hot summer months, the planting space should be chosen wisely so that the otherwise bare area can be covered by other plants during in this time. In the spring, the location should be fresh to moist, so that the plant will sprout again. It finds use in perennial beds and at the edge of hedgerows.
