Product information "Anemone hupehensis 'Praecox'"

The early Japanese anemone is a very graceful perennial. It has a dense, clump-like habit and propagates itself via short runners. Its leaves are pale green and shaped like a crow’s foot. Starting in August, the large, purple-pink, bowl-shaped flowers appear on loose panicles that grow up to 60 cm high. The fine, yellow stamens are another eye-catching feature. The Japanese anemone develops best in a partially shaded location with fresh, nutrient-rich soil that is rich in humus; it does not tolerate waterlogging. This beautiful, early autumn perennial is particularly suitable for loosely planted flower beds, perennial borders, woodland edge plantings and for areas with a wild perennial character in individual and group plantings. It should not be planted too late because it will then not be able to survive the winter. Slight coverage with brushwood and leaves is recommended as a winter protection.
