Product information "Ceratostigma plumbaginoides"
Leadwort or plumbago is an interesting cushion perennial and spreads mat-like by forming small offshoots. At bud break it forms bluish green, oval, slightly lanceolate foliage that is deep green in the summer and reddish in autumn. Starting in August, it forms small, gentian blue flowers at the growing tips. Cerato plumbaginoides develops particularly well in locations with full sun and well-drained, rather dry, humus-rich soils. It is suitable for perennial borders, bed plantings of all kinds as well as for rock gardens and containers. It is considered to be very hardy, but winter protection promotes the development in the following year.Flower colour: Blue
