Product information "Alisma plantago-aquatica"

Common water-plantain is a marsh plant or a rooted aquatic plant. It has an upright habit with lush green, spoon-shaped, oval-lanceolate leaves. From June to August, the umbel-like flower spikes with pink single flowers appear and grow up to 1 m tall. This plant prefers a sunny to partially shady location along river banks on marsh or mud bottoms with a water level of up to 20 cm. It can be planted in gardens and swimming ponds and streams. With its delicate flower spikes it has ornamental value and adorns the shore area. It is better to remove the seed heads if too many seeds are produced. Due to its high nutritional requirements, it is suitable for water wetlands and reclamation measures. Alisma plantago-aquatica is completely hardy and survives with one tuber.
