Product information "Bistorta amplexicaulis 'Speciosum'"

Bistort or mountain fleece is a very attractive perennial that brings colour to large perennial plantings again in late summer. Also known as knotweed, this name is not a coincidence because the nodes on the shoots are very pronounced. The variety 'Speciosum' has very impressive growth and reaches a height of 120 to 150 cm. Starting in August, dense, bright pinkish red flowers appear above the lance-like, pointed, almost heart-shaped leaves. The ideal location for the bistort to develop particularly well should be sunny to semi-shady with rich, loamy, fresh soil. Since it has a rather ground-covering habit, it should be given enough space for development. It is ideal for large-scale plantings and natural gardens. Its flowers are a pronounced highlight in late summer bouquets.
