Product information "Painter's Rose, Hybrid Tea Marc Chagall"

With ‘Marc Chagall’, the French nursery supplements their Rose des Peintres series with this expressionist painter and the rose named after him. Whether he would have recognised himself in the colour combination? In any case, I can’t think about Chagall without having blue come to mind, but that is also related to my Swiss coinage by the famous stained glass windows in the Fraumünster in Zurich, which Marc Chagall designed. And yes, you can imagine the problems  that roses have with the impossible color blue ... Had Arnaud Delbard, the third generation head of the French nursery, looked for a blue-striped variety, he would not be able to find anything, even until today. ;-)
Anyway, Delbard has managed to find a good complement to the painter roses with the Marc Chagall rose. This floribunda stands out with its round, bushy growth and by its wealth of flowers. Like most painters roses, the fragrant rose ‘Marc Chagsall’ only has a slight fragrance, which is, however, as such, easily recognizable and clearly present. So not only a fragrant something that you can smell only in the best hours of the day, shortly after the drying of the roses around noon...This scent appears first as a typical scent of roses, but it goes gradually into the aftereffects of a fruity note of peach.
Incidentally, brightly striped and mixed roses have been around a long time; there are striped roses amongst the old roses and breeders like Mc Gredy have also introduced such varieties, but really they were really only established by the nursery Delbard. It was probably the marketing idea of Henri Delbard (father of Arnaud Delbard) that brought the breakthrough: the comparison of a colour drawing with the brush of the most famous mostly French painters. How often it is also only the name that makes the rose to what it is: a total work of art. Here in a multiple sense: as a result of artful breeding, and then associated with the colours of French master painters...
Besides the painter roses, there are many very different assessments by rose enthusiasts: you either love them or you hate them...They are beautiful and exciting, or they seem kitschy and cluttered. Here’s my personal opinion: To me, they are cheerful roses; roses that put a smile on my face when I walk past them on my way to work...But of course I also see them more alone, planted in small groups of three or five, and not together with other plants, where they can’t be aesthetic due to their restless colouring.
