Product information "Romantic Hybrid Tea Candlelight (in a large container)"

Candlelight is one of the best yellow hybrid teas - and perhaps the best with densely filled, romantic flowers. While many older yellow hybrid teas are subject to diseases and are not really convincing in their growth, Candlelight's growth is strong and healthy. Thanks to their long, stable stalks it is also suitable for vases.

A yellow hybrid tea can also quickly faded and have a cold effect. An even slightly faded lemon yellow is actually no longer beautiful; contrary to this yellow, the golden yellow of ‘Candlelight’ throughout the flowering period is warm and pleasant, just like the flickering and hominess of a mediating candle. This image of the candle can also be applied in the garden: a group of 3 or 5 ‘Candlelight’ hybrid teas planted in a mixed border, in a flower bed with shrubs and small trees, is an actual source of light (even when the sun sometimes does not shine). I can be planted with deciduous trees and perennials with dark foliage and flower colours.
Like with all roses, it is worthwhile, even with ‘Candlelight’ to slightly mound up the plant before the winter in order to protect it from frost; or alternatively cover the plant with twigs or leaves. The yellow varieties are systematically somewhat more susceptible to frost than the other varieties. Maybe it has an effect to this day that the yellow rose colour was crossed in the 19th century from Asian varieties of roses to the European roses.
