Product information "Arctic Blackberry Arom'arctic® Systrar®"
The berry groundcover Arom'arctic® Systrar® fits into the scheme of plants that we are always looking for at Lubera. They should, if possible, not only be good, but also beautiful. Systrar’s pink-violet flowers are certainly a feast for the eyes; the arctic bramble is also beautiful as a hanging basket. One should not expect to have pounds of fruits; however, the fruits that are there make up for it with their intense fragrance. They are a real treat for one’s nose.Cultivation: Almost anywhere is possible, pH: 5-7, preferably moist and nutrient-rich soils; ideal as a groundcover that dies back in the winter; also ideal as a hanging plant due to its beautiful, pink-violet flowers
Flowering/maturity: Blooms in May; fruit ripens from July to August
Fruits/flavour: The subtle red berries are known as delicacies; the intense fragrance is very appealing!
Fertilisation: The arctic blackberries are largely not self-fertile; therefore we always plant two different varieties in one pot: hence the name Systrar® (Swedish for siblings)
Growth/health: 5-25 cm tall, herbaceous, without thorns; once it takes root, it establishes itself well and covers the ground quickly during the growing season; 3-4 plants per m² are sufficient; very robust, also suitable for full sun as opposed to the cloudberry
Tip: Harvest fruit with the stem, as they otherwise become too unstable and get too juicy

Potting on (Tony Marshall)
What would you recommend for potting on the arctic blackberry? Should I just put it in a large pot such as a 30 litre heavy duty pot, fill with multi purpose compost and stand outside? The description says it likes 'slightly' acidic soil so should I mix half and half multi purpose and ericaceous compost?
Potting on (sonja dreher)
Hello,
yes, you can do it exactly the way you described it.
Kompost and peat or ericaceous soil will be perfect.
kind regards
Your lubera team
