Product information "Blueberry Buddy Blue"

Blueberries from June to early October? Is that possible? Buddy Blue closes, so to speak, the last gap in this concept as the latest variety that ripens in September, partly until well into October and thus prolongs the blue glory by one month. Buddy Blue belongs to the group of so-called Rabbiteye blueberries, which get their name from the ripening, white-dotted, red fruits are reminiscent of the eyes of albino rabbits...Anyway, this semi-evergreen blueberry variety and especially this species is fully hardy, but it loses most of its leaves in cold winters. While the normal blueberries, which the Americans call Northern Highbush Blueberries, are largely self-fertile, the Rabbiteyes often rely on pollination by other varieties; however, we have also experienced sufficient yields when Buddy Blue stands alone.

But just the background of Rabbiteye blueberries makes Buddy Blue the perfect mate for Pink Lemonade®. Our trials in recent years have shown that Pink Lemonade® bears fruit alone, but that the yield is left to be desired. Planting another genetically related blueberry next to it works wonders. The latest blueberry variety Buddy Blue, which belongs to the so-called Rabbiteye group of blueberries, has shown the best results. And really, if one investigates the pedigree of Pink Lemonade®, one quickly realises that even in their 'veins' a certain part of Rabbiteye blood flows.

Maturity: September to October, the very inferential, in Switzerland and Southern Germany in late August to late September, in Central and Northern Germany in September to mid-October
Fruits: Light blue, medium to large; in large, dense clusters
Taste: Good flavour, with stronger, accented sourness than the summer varieties
Yield: Medium height, but very elongated, the fruits will not burst, even with frequent rain and they do not begin to rot
Growth/health: Strong and rather wide, typical, almost like coated with powder, white-blue-green leaves; due to the Rabbiteye influence, this species is semi-evergreen, but it has good frost resistance. However, if possible do not plant too exposed in full sun. In my opinion, it has the most beautiful leaves of all blueberries!
Pollination: Buddy Blue® is the ideal pollinators for Pink Lemonade® due to its consanguinity; the species itself appears to be self-fertile enough, but it has better yields when planted together with normal blueberry plants like Duke, Bluecrop, Blue Roma and Blue Dessert!

Distance from the pollinator variety Plant the Pinkberry and blueberry Buddy Blue ideally at a distance of about 1.5 m from each other. However, the pollination should also work with a distance of 5-10 m.

Ordered this blueberry and also other things and had a query after ordering. Did not receive a response to my email query and no answer each time I try to call customer service. Delivery estimated on 5 Dec. Still have not received anything to date and still have not received any response to my emails or anyone answering my calls. Appalling service and non delivery! Looks like a legit company but given experience, makes me question this.! No other avenue and hopefully a public comment like this will yield some sort of response!
