Product information "Strawberry Frutium® Bonneure® 6-Pack"

In classic strawberry breeding that is concentrated on garden strawberries (not like our Parfum series which uses other varieties of strawberries), our goal is to breed varieties which are essentially fruitier than the mass produced varieties in commercial cultivation. And what's fruity? Fruity essentially means this: more sugar, but also at the same time much more sourness. And Frutium Bonneure® meets this criterion and it incidentally also forms very large fruits, which are very solid coloured. Bonneure® obtained this trait from its mother, the late strawberry Malwina®.

Maturity: Mid-June to early July
Fruits: Large to very large fruits, beautifully coloured
Flavour/aroma: Fruity strawberry aroma; the fruits should be really ripe, which means that only the darkest fruits should be harvested; the fruits then develop a broad, sustained sweetness; yet they are also juicy and almost crunchy when bitten into
Growth: Large, healthy shrubs; throughout the year, Bonneure has the healthiest leaves of all varieties in the experimental field; can also be used as a low, border hedge for an herb bed
Use: A garden strawberry with great fruit quality
Crossing & selection: Crossing by Peter Stoppel, selection by Lubera in 2016
