What are Lubera Cassissima®?
Lubera® Cassissima® are the new blackcurrants for gourmets - bred by Lubera. Thanks to the extremely large fruits and the high sugar content, more and more people who don’t really like blackcurrants are turning towards the Cassissima® varieties. The blackcurrant is a dessert fruit, a berry that is also enjoyed fresh.
Here are the main advantages of Cassissima® blackcurrants:
- Large fruits
- More sugar and flavour
- Disease resistant and vigorous
Standard currant bushes only need a small area to grow; there is room for them everywhere, even where there is no place on the ground, for example in a vegetable patch, in a perennial border, even in a rosary and in a pot on the terrace or balcony...berry standards grow healthy. The tree-like form helps the berries ventilate better and thus dry off quickly - which means less disease and more berries. And one more thing: berry standards are easier on your back when harvesting and pruning.
