The main constituents are Vitamin C (150 g is the daily requirement), B vitamins, silicic acid, potassium, magnesium, pectin, fructose, fruit acids. Gooseberries are rich in fibre and stimulate the intestinal activity. They promote the healthy growth of hair, nails and help to have solid teeth and bones. Berry weight? (Jill)
Hi, are the Captivator fruits as big as Hinnonmaki Red fruits or much smaller?
Berry weight (Lubera)
Hi Jill, sorry for our late reply, the Captivator fruits are bigger than the Hinonmäki fruits. Best regards
Height of Gooseberries? (Haley Johnson)
Hi, I consistently see most of your gooseberry descriptions as 90/100 cm high. Is this an average , because this is quite incorrect for some cultivars and can be confusing for novice gardeners? I grow gooseberry Captivator and it is 2 metres high by 2metres wide, given that it took over 6 years to reach this size with little pruning. Thankyou.
Size! (L.G)
The height/width Lubera gives is generic and probably will cover 99% of gooseberry cultivars. Most never get bigger than 3 to 4 feet or as wide. So it is correct to describe as such.
