Product information "Gooseberry Luberissima Crispa® Goldling®"

In the 19th century in Central England, in the newly created environment of workers and employees of the industry, a new democratic garden pleasure originated: in countless clubs, the aim was to breed the prettiest and biggest gooseberries and thus to win competitions. This new variety would have been suitable for this, as it is the largest in our range; it is also very sweet and aromatic and like its new sisters (Crispa Solemio, Crispa Darling, Easy Crisp Mr Green), it has a better tolerance to mildew than the standard varieties.

Maturity: Medium to medium late
Fruits: Mustard yellow colour, with gold veins; the largest fruit in the current Crispa gooseberry range, larger than Invicta and Solemio, huge; very smooth, thin skin; very, very little hair; harvest is usually possible without stems
Flavour: Extremely juicy, sweet, a delicacy; without the soapy aftertaste that overripe gooseberries may have from time to time; edible with skin
Growth/health: More vigorous than Solemio; significantly better tolerance to mildew than older varieties such as Invicta, Espera or Flavia
Yield: Very large yield, strikingly good fruit set even after frost and bad weather during the flowering season
