Product information "Kiwi Minkimale®"

Note: male kiwi, the pollinator for Minkigold®
With Minkimale®, the ideal and perfect partner for pollinating Minkigold® was selected which produces regular yields. It is worthwhile to plant Minkimale® with every Minkigold® that is planted. Once Minkimale® begins to bloom, this male pollinator plant can be kept small; it has done its duty and obligation when a few hundred flowers develop each year. You do not have to keep half of the supporting frame or pergola free for Minkimale®; this space is better reserved for the female, fruit-bearing Minkigold® that will continue to spread.
Of course, other male pollinator kiwis of the species Actinidia deliciosa have a fertilisation effect on Minkigold (e.g. the variety Tomuri); the temporal coincidence of the flowering period (and therefore also the time of pollination) is not usually as perfect as with Minkimale®.
By the way, Minkimale® can pollinate up to 8 Minkigold® plants.

Tips

Protect young kiwi plants from cats   In their roots and shoots, kiwi plants have the same ingredient as catnip that is almost magically attractive to cats. This can cause the neighbour's cats to get crazy about the perceived perfume; they sometimes make a beeline to dig up freshly planted kiwi plants, they tousle the roots, rip them open and injure the young shoots. It is therefore particularly necessary to protect the young plants from cat bites in “cat-prone” areas - and which areas would that not be?
