Product information "Japanese Wineberry"

The Japanese wineberry or wine raspberry has bright orange fruits, which are juicy, aromatic, sour and very tasty. They are suitable for direct consumption as well as for making jam and jelly. The fruits ae surrounded by the sepals until they are ripe, and this protects the plant from being eaten by predators.
Fruits: Smaller, yellow/red, soft and juicy fruits, rich-bearing. The fruits are enclosed by the sepals until just before ripeness; this protects the plant from being eaten. Harvest in July and August
Flavour: Sour, sweet with a pleasant aroma; the aroma is particularly fruity and juicier than raspberries and blackberries, however the fruits are also much smaller
Growth: Similar to thorny blackberries, forms 2 - 3 m long, dense, red shoots, which have few, thin spines. Bright pink flowers in June/July on the 2-year-old wood, i.e. last year’s shoots
Speciality: Can be grown on a wire frame, preferably not in a location with full sun. Above all, one should prevent the shoot tips of the new
canes from touching the ground and forming roots. Cut back 2-year-old canes that have borne fruit after the harvest
