Product information "DeliDahlia® Hapet® Buga München"

The Delidahlia® Buga München brings a new flavour component to the dahlias: a very sweetish note. The texture is neither melting nor grainy nor fibrous. It is crisp. When the tubers are ideally cooked, they simply have a nice and pleasant bite to them! Together with Hapet® Kennedy and Sunset, Buga München forms the trio of dahlias in the range of Delidahlias® that are suitable for growing in pots. With these three varieties, it is easily possible for balcony and patio gardeners to grow Delidahlias® AND enjoy the flowers and tubers.

Dahlia group: Container dahlia
Flower type: Semi-cactus dahlia
Height: 100 cm
Tubers: Round, potato-like tubers, medium to high yields
Taste/texture: Rather “crisp” texture with a good bite, slightly firmer than other varieties, but it feels good while eating; a noticeably sweet component, reminiscent of fresh parsley

Tips

Peel and cook Delidahlias® As with asparagus and black salsify, it is important that the dahlia tubers are peeled carefully, comprehensively and also relatively low. Thus, the tuber is cleaned, but at the same time, the top, sometimes slightly fibrous texture layers are removed (see asparagus). When preparing as a vegetable, asparagus is boiled with advantage in a pressure cooker for about 10-15 minutes depending on the variety and taste.
