Product information "Rhubarb Siruparber Canada Red®"

Siruparber® Canada Red is a particularly beautiful, edible rhubarb with long, medium thick stalks; it has an unusual red colour – from the outside and inside. When cooking, this beautiful red colour is not lost. Siruparber must not be peeled, it is never fibrous. The harvest is very large and uniform from March to June. Very good flavour, milder than with the green varieties. Besides the well-known use of rhubarb for sauces, mixed jams (together with strawberries) or cakes, Siruparber® Canada Red is particularly suitable for the making syrup – that is how it gets its name! The colour of this rhubarb syrup is an unmatched red, and the taste is so refreshing, awakening and yet also smooth that one cannot get enough of it. Try it!
Stalks: Medium long stems, stable; bright red on the outside, and 80% red on the inside; what the stems lack of thickness and presence, they reflect in their fine texture; this Siruparber must not be peeled, it is never fibrous
Growth: Upright habit, about 70 cm high and 50 cm wide
Harvest/yield: Round, healthy growth, very rarely forms flowers, but forms new shoots in the summer; nevertheless, the plant should no longer be harvested after the longest day, so that the assimilating leaves can create reserves for the next year
Flavour: The best rhubarb flavour; the fresh rhubarb sourness is typical, however overall it has a much more mild flavour than the other varieties; some people also eat this rhubarb fresh
Use: For all purposes; the special thing about this rhubarb is its flavour and colour, which does not change during cooking, but rather gets more intense and bright; therefore, the best uses are for rhubarb syrup (yes, therefore its name) and rhubarb sauce. By the way, the syrup boils very quickly.
