Product information "Ornamental Sweet Potato Treasure Island 'Tahiti'"

The sweet potato Treasure Island 'Tahiti'Ⓢ is an ornamental sweet potato with very decorative foliage. The leaves of this sweet potato are green with red veins. They have an elegant, slit shape that is reminiscent of hands with long fingers. The leaves of this sweet potato are edible and they have a pleasant flavour. It can be used as a vegetable like spinach, in salads or smoothies.
The tubers of Treasure Island 'Tahiti'Ⓢ have an intense wine red colour and an elongated shape. Both the skin and the flesh show this colour. This makes 'Tahiti' a speciality in our sweet potato range: it contains a lot of red colourants known as anthocyanins, which are otherwise only found in the 'Sakura' variety. Anthocyanins are considered to have a high health value; among other things, they have a strong antioxidant effect and thus prevent or slow down the aging and mutation of cells.
The tubers of the sweet potato Treasure Island 'Tahiti'Ⓢ grow quite large and have an excellent flavour. Eaten raw, baked or cooked, these sweet potatoes are a real treat. They are suitable for various recipes.

Here are the advantages of the Sweet Potato 'Tahiti':

  •     High content of anthocyanins
  •     Large tubers with an excellent flavour
  •     Decorative foliage with slit leaves

Tips

Growing in a pot Pot cultivation is useful in a container with a volume of at least 7-10 L. Remember that it needs enough volume to allow the tubers to develop freely.
