Product information "Clematis 'Mrs N. Thompson'"

Clematis's ‘Mrs. N. Thompson’ immediately catches one’s eye with its large, lively coloured flowers. The basic colour is an intense violet blue. Each petal has a bright purple stripe, which creates a brilliant play of colours. The flowers are composed of 6 to 8 petals and they have a diameter of 14 to 16 cm.
As with almost every twice-blooming clematis, the flowering period ranges from May to June and, after a short break, from August to September.
With a growth height of 180 to 240 cm, this colourful clematis grows rather compact and is therefore excellently suitable for planting in containers. Here it creates accents on balconies and terraces. Naturally, it can also be used in many different ways in the garden. It transforms rose arches, trellises and obelisks into a glowing sea of flowers.
When combining with other flower colours, you should be careful: the colour-intensive flowers of this English lady have the best effect when they are planted adjacent to a neutral white colour. Delicate pastel shades such as light blue and light pink offer additional design possibilities.
Clematis 'Mrs N. Thompson' is reliably hardy and thrives in sunny as well as semi-shady locations. Each year in February it should be cut back by about a third of the shoot length.
