Product information "Japanese Dogwood"

The Japanese dogwood is a very valuable deciduous shrub or small tree for solitary plantings. It has wide, sweeping growth and a height of up to 4-6 metres. It is very similar to the Chinese dogwood but may be somewhat weaker growing. But the Japaese dogwood is very robust and resistant
From the end of May to July there are numerous, white “flowers”, which are actually bracts. They have a diameter of up to 10 cm. The strawberry-like, pinkish red fruits appear in autumn.
 The most impressive feature of Cornus kousa var. chinensis is the spectacular, yellow to bright red colouration of the foliage in autumn. It thrives in normal garden soil; however it performs best in very good to slightly acidic, rather dry soils. Plant it in full sun and mulch the roots well.
