Planting Lubera® Rhubarb
Rhubarb tolerates light shade; however, maximum yields are only possible when light and nutrient conditions are good
Light to moderately heavy, humus- rich; possibly improve with compost before planting; avoid waterlogging
Fertilisation: Organic fertiliser is preferred; incorporate compost or rotted manure every year
(February/March); provide each plant with 30 g fertiliser (6/8 months) in April.
• Do not harvest in the year of planting, since the rhizome is not very strong
• In the 2nd year, only harvest until mid-May
• In the 3rd year, the harvest can take place until mid-June
• Do not harvest rhubarb after the middle of June due to the rising content of oxalic acid in the stems; through the assimilating leaves the plant forms reserves for the next year
• Harvest 2–4 of the plants’ strongest leaves per week; remove the inflorescences that start appearing in May
  • Ripeness/Harvest Period March, April, May, June

cut off? (Michael Testoni)

Hmm! I want to harvest all the foliages. Ok? Thanks.

Rhubarb Early Green (Your Lubera Team - Sonja Hendrischke)

yes you can harvest all the foliages, but not all at the same time, leave some for the plant to nurish the rootstock, because in late summer, the rhubarb looses all its leaves and "goes to sleep" until next spring.

Kind regards
your Lubera-Team

watering rhubarb (Your Lubera Team - Sonja Hendrischke)

of course you have to water the rhubarb, especially when freshly planted.
You will see when water is needed, the leavea start hanging down then.
